CITY OF CENTRALIA, approximately 4500 city poles for test and treatment including transmission poles. All poles were within the city and required interface with the public and homeowner. Project was completed on schedule and under budget. Environmental and shell decay were common.

POMEROY,
WA. 2100 poles. SOUTHEASTERN WA. Area was typical of rolling hills
and steep canyons. Pole’s was of late age and had not be replaced for
several years. Common findings were major pole replacement because of
pole age and sever decay. Documentation was extensive and poled
replacement was universal. ROSAILIA, 1168 poles. A typical farming area. Poles were normally along the road side and edge of the fields. Crops were present and accesses to poles in fields were by foot. Major pole decay because of age and mechanical damage from farming equipment. |

DEER PARK, WA. 2500 poles. Typical hot, dry, wet, cold and freezing area. Pole were maintained regularly with subdivisions common, Slight pole decay and mechanical damage were few. Poles were over 10 years and treated. Replacements were few.

SOUTH SPOKANE, WA. 1000 poles. A very remote and rocky and tree’s area. Poles were located along roadside and through right-a-way. Poles were aged and treated. Many were decayed, fire damage and insects. |

IDAHO – NORTH (Bonners Ferry) approximately 500 poles of transmission and under- build. Poles were of 20 years and indicated very few decay. All poles were treated for further protection. Common problems were woodpecker damage and insect infestation.
IDAHO / Washington area. 600 Poles. All poles were within the highway right-a-way but surrounded by vegetation and tree growth. Highway required some restrictions and complying with Idaho regulations. Pole decay and replacement were few.

DAVENPORT AREA, 1200 poles. Very mountainous and rugged with large canyons and limited vehicle access. The majority of access had to be walked into. Area was too rough for ATV’s. Although the access was made by foot, with equipment and treatments, the project was completed with schedule. Various poles required treatment and replacement. |
